Chris Covatta is a freelance photographer based in Austin, TX specializing in portraits for editorial, advertising and corporate clients, as well as sports action photography.
With over thirty years of experience Covatta has shot on assignment across the United States, in Europe and Asia. He has worked on assignment for publications including Sports Illustrated, SI for Kids, Business Week, Entrepreneur Magazine, and Time. He has also shot sports action and portraits for Upper Deck Trading Cards, NBA Entertainment, SLAM magazine and Athlon Sports.
Ad shoots have included Panasonic Japan, Nike France, Maxfli, Universal Insurance. He also received three Detroit Creative Directorís Caddy awards for his portraits of players for a Detroit Lions ad campaign.
He is known for getting the best under demanding conditions. He has been sought out for his ability to solve visual problems on tight deadlines and for consistently coming away with superior results.
Covatta currently resides in Drippiní (Dripping Springs, TX), a small community located in the hill country southwest of Austin. When not working, Covatta enjoys drinking copious amounts of Shiner beer while BBQing and grilling large amounts of meat, fish and vegetables.
